WhatsApp COD order confirmation for Shopify and WooCommerce
What happens when a Cash on Delivery order comes in, what you need to set it up, and what it costs.
What the customer sees
The message comes from your own WhatsApp Business number with your store name. You choose the wording and the language (English, Hindi or Hinglish). If the customer types a question instead, like "deliver tomorrow" or "change my address", they get a polite reply in their language and the order is marked for you to check.
What happens to each order
- Ship: the customer confirmed.
- Cancelled: the customer cancelled; cancel it in your store.
- Hold: no reply after one reminder and 24 hours; call before shipping.
- Check first: wrong pincode, incomplete address, a second order from the same number, or a customer who cancelled before.
You see all of this on your order board, and get one summary a day on WhatsApp or email.
What you need
- A Shopify or WooCommerce store.
- A WhatsApp Business account on Meta, with a mobile number for it (a new SIM is easiest) and a card for Meta's message charges.
- About 30 minutes once: connect your number in your own Meta account with our click-by-click guide, and paste one link into your store's order notifications. No passwords, apps or store access.
What it costs
Orderlane: ₹1,499 one-time setup (launch offer) and ₹999 a month. Meta charges a small fee per confirmation message to your own WhatsApp Business account, currently ₹0.145 for this type of message in India. For 40 COD orders a day that is usually ₹200–350 a month. See Pricing.
